Puppies for sale are purebred English setters. There are three girls and four boys. However, one of the males has been reserved and will be picked up on Saturday. The initial shots and worming will be given, and the dew claws will be removed. Both parents are on site and are excellent hunters!
About the English Setter
The English Setter is an elegant and distinguished sporting breed that has captivated dog lovers for centuries with its beautiful feathered coat and gentle disposition. Originally developed in England over 400 years ago, these graceful dogs were bred to locate game birds by scent and then 'set' or crouch low to indicate their location to hunters. This heritage has created a breed that combines athleticism with a remarkably calm and friendly nature.
Standing between 23 and 27 inches tall and weighing 45 to 80 pounds, English Setters are medium to large dogs with a distinctive appearance characterized by their silky, flat coat with feathering on the ears, chest, legs, and tail. Their coat typically features a striking speckled pattern called 'belton' in combinations of white with blue, lemon, orange, or liver markings. These dogs possess an aristocratic beauty that turns heads wherever they go.
In terms of temperament, English Setters are known for being exceptionally friendly, gentle, and even-tempered. They form strong bonds with their families and are particularly patient and affectionate with children, making them excellent family companions. While they maintain their hunting instincts, they are generally more mellow than many other sporting breeds, though they still require regular exercise to stay healthy and content.
