We have 9 German Shepherd puppies that are 8 weeks old and ready for new homes! They’ve been raised in our home with lots of love, sunshine, and fresh air, and their parents are right here with us. We have both males and females available, and they’ve already been dewormed and received their first vaccinations. Please note that they don’t come with papers. We’re asking for a small rehoming fee of $350 each. About the German Shepherd Dog
The German Shepherd Dog is one of the world's most recognizable and versatile breeds, developed in Germany in the late 1800s originally for herding sheep. Today, they're renowned as premier working dogs serving in military, police, search and rescue, and service dog roles worldwide. German Shepherds are highly intelligent, ranking among the top breeds for trainability and working ability. They possess a noble, confident demeanor combined with unwavering loyalty to their families, making them both excellent protectors and devoted companions. These large, athletic dogs require substantial daily exercise—at least 60-90 minutes of vigorous activity including running, hiking, or engaging in dog sports. They excel at obedience, agility, tracking, and protection work, and thrive when given jobs to do. Mental stimulation is equally crucial, as boredom can lead to destructive behaviors. German Shepherds form strong bonds with their families and can be gentle and patient with children, though their size and herding instincts mean supervision is important. They're naturally protective and reserved with strangers, making early socialization essential for developing well-rounded temperaments. Their double coat requires regular brushing, especially during heavy shedding seasons twice yearly. German Shepherds are prone to certain health issues including hip and elbow dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, bloat, and allergies. Responsible breeding practices and maintaining a healthy weight help minimize these risks. This breed is not suited for inexperienced owners or those unable to provide extensive exercise, training, and mental stimulation. They do best in active households where they can be integral family members with a purpose. With proper care, training, and socialization, German Shepherds become incomparable companions combining courage, intelligence, and unwavering devotion.
