Their parents are AKC registered. We are seeking a loving forever home for them. These puppies are wonderful with children, displaying gentle, loving, and caring personalities. About the Irish Setter
The Irish Setter is a large, elegant sporting breed from Ireland, instantly recognizable by its stunning mahogany or chestnut red coat that flows gracefully with movement. Originally developed as a bird dog for setting and retrieving game, these athletic dogs retain strong hunting instincts combined with boundless enthusiasm and energy. Irish Setters are renowned for their outgoing, friendly personalities and love of people, making them wonderful family companions though they can be exuberant and rambunctious, especially as youngsters. They're slow to mature mentally, often maintaining puppy-like behavior until 2-3 years old. These dogs require substantial daily exercise including running, hiking, or vigorous play to prevent destructive behaviors. Their long, silky coat needs regular brushing several times weekly to prevent tangles and mats, with particular attention to feathering on ears, chest, legs, and tail. Irish Setters are intelligent and trainable but can be easily distracted and may have an independent streak. They thrive on positive reinforcement training and do best with patient, consistent handlers. Generally excellent with children and other dogs, they make poor guard dogs due to their friendly nature toward everyone.
