We have 5 Italian Greyhound puppies available for great loving home. There are 3 males 2 females, aged about 5 months old. If you're unfamiliar with this breed, you should know that they prefer to be under blankets and most of the time they have very short hair inside. These dogs are more like kids than dogs, and they need homes that give them a great deal of affection. They remain very small, but can run very quickly and jump very high as they grow up, so it is practically out of the question to keep them outside. These little things mean a lot to us, and we just have no room for them.
About the Italian Greyhound
The Italian Greyhound is a true miniature sighthound and one of the smallest members of the sighthound family, combining the elegance and grace of larger greyhounds in a toy-sized package. Despite their delicate appearance, these ancient dogs are true athletes capable of impressive speed and agility. Italian Greyhounds are affectionate, sensitive companions that bond intensely with their owners and often prefer to be lap dogs when not running. Their thin, sleek coat requires minimal grooming but offers little protection from cold, necessitating sweaters in cool weather. These dogs have fine-boned, fragile legs that are prone to breaks, especially in puppies, requiring careful handling and supervision to prevent jumping from high furniture. Italian Greyhounds can be challenging to housetrain and are known for being stubborn about going outside in bad weather. They possess strong prey drive and need secure fencing. Despite their small size, they require daily exercise and opportunities to run. Italian Greyhounds are often reserved with strangers and can be timid without proper socialization. They're best suited for gentle, adult households or families with older children who understand their fragile nature.
