I have two female Miniature Pinscher mix puppies in need of loving forever homes. They were born on April 2, 2025, making them about 12 weeks old. These little ones are still very small and are expected to weigh only 5 to 6 pounds fully grown. About the Miniature Pinscher
The Miniature Pinscher, affectionately called the Min Pin or the King of Toys, is a small but mighty breed originating from Germany over 200 years ago. Despite common misconception, they are not a miniature version of the Doberman Pinscher—in fact, the Min Pin predates the Doberman by several decades. Originally bred to hunt rats in homes and stables, these compact dynamos possess a bold, confident personality that far exceeds their diminutive size.
Characterized by their sleek, muscular build and distinctive high-stepping hackney gait (resembling a prancing horse), Miniature Pinschers are athletic, elegant dogs with a smooth, short coat that comes in red, stag red (red with black hairs), black and rust, or chocolate and rust. Their grooming needs are minimal—occasional brushing and regular nail trims suffice. Despite their small size, they're sturdy and athletic, built for agility and speed rather than being delicate lap dogs.
Min Pins are famous for their fearless, assertive personalities and seemingly boundless energy. They're incredibly curious, intelligent, and can be quite independent, which sometimes translates to stubbornness during training. Early socialization and consistent, firm training are essential, as they can develop small dog syndrome if not properly managed. Their high energy levels require daily exercise—at least 30-40 minutes of walks, play, and mental stimulation to prevent destructive behaviors.
These dogs are naturally vigilant watchdogs who alert their owners to any unusual activity with sharp, persistent barking. While loyal and affectionate with their families, they can be wary of strangers and may not tolerate rough handling from young children. They're escape artists who require secure fencing and supervision. With experienced owners who can provide structure, exercise, and mental challenges, Min Pins make entertaining, devoted companions for 12-16 years.
