These 2 male puppies are mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Black Mouth Cur. Approximately 10-12 weeks old and weigh around 20 pounds. They are very friendly. They are crate trained, do not have accidents in the crate, and are good at using the potty outside, but they are not completely house-trained. They get along well with our dogs and children. They are free and we can deliver them.
About the Rhodesian Ridgeback
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a powerful African breed distinguished by the characteristic ridge of hair growing backward along their spine. Originally bred in South Africa to hunt lions and guard homesteads, these majestic dogs combine courage, athleticism, and loyalty. Ridgebacks possess a dignified, independent nature while forming deep bonds with their families. They're naturally protective without being aggressive, making them excellent watchdogs who assess situations thoughtfully. These intelligent dogs require consistent, confident leadership and early socialization to develop into well-mannered companions. While gentle and affectionate with family members, they can be reserved with strangers and may not tolerate rough play from young children. Their high prey drive means they'll chase smaller animals, and their strength requires secure fencing. Ridgebacks need substantial daily exercise but are surprisingly calm indoors once their physical needs are met. Training can be challenging due to their independent streak, requiring patience and positive reinforcement. Their short coat is low-maintenance, needing only occasional brushing. These dogs are not ideal for first-time owners but reward experienced handlers with unwavering loyalty and companionship. The Rhodesian Ridgeback thrives in active households that appreciate their noble bearing and athletic prowess.
