Beautiful two and half year-old female Samoyed in search of her forever home! She is very friendly, affectionate, loyal, playful, smart, and curious. This Beautiful girl is a true athlete and loves to run and play. She's highly intelligent and active dog who is happiest when she is getting a ton of exercise and mental stimulation. She loves to go on long walks and hikes and would make a great companion for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors.
About the Samoyed
The Samoyed is a beautiful spitz breed from Siberia, originally bred to herd reindeer, pull sleds, and keep their families warm in arctic conditions. Known for their distinctive smile and stunning white coat, Sammies are among the friendliest of all breeds. These dogs greet everyone as a potential friend, making them poor guard dogs but wonderful family companions. They're exceptionally good with children, displaying patience and playfulness. Samoyeds are intelligent and trainable but can be independent thinkers, requiring consistent, positive training methods. Their working heritage means they need daily exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy and well-behaved. These are vocal dogs who express themselves through barks, howls, and distinctive talking sounds. Their magnificent double coat requires substantial grooming commitment, needing brushing at least three times weekly, daily during heavy seasonal shedding. Despite the grooming challenge, their coat is surprisingly self-cleaning and doesn't typically have a doggy odor. Samoyeds are pack animals who need to be part of family life rather than yard dogs. They can be prone to separation anxiety if left alone too long. These dogs don't tolerate heat well due to their thick coat. For families willing to commit to grooming and exercise, the Samoyed rewards with unwavering devotion, infectious cheerfulness, and that famous Sammy smile.
