Our cute puppies were born on September 12th and will be ready for their new homes on November 7th. They are a lovely mix of German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees called Shepnees. We had a previous litter of 16 puppies, all of which found loving homes and were great as guard dogs and family pets. These pups love big yards and need at least 60 minutes of exercise outside every day. The female puppies from our last litter usually weigh about 80 pounds, while the males can weigh over 100 pounds. We can show you pictures of our previous litter if you want. These puppies can inherit traits from their mother (German Shepherd) or father, and it's interesting that some of our silver puppies turned almost white as they grew up. If you want to know more or get one of our puppies, please contact us. Just remember that there is a fee to make sure you can take care of your new furry family member for life.
About the Shepnees

The Shepnees is an impressive large breed hybrid combining the German Shepherd's intelligence and versatility with the Great Pyrenees's calm, gentle nature and guardian instincts. This substantial dog typically inherits the best protective qualities from both parents while maintaining a patient, family-oriented temperament. Shepnees often feature a beautiful thick coat, combining the German Shepherd's coloring with the Pyrenees's luxurious double coat, creating a stunning and imposing presence.
These dogs are naturally protective and loyal, making them excellent family guardians who take their role seriously. Unlike more aggressive guard breeds, the Shepnees typically displays a calm, confident demeanor, preferring to watch and assess situations before acting. They inherit the Great Pyrenees's tendency to bark when alerting to perceived threats, which can be significant in suburban settings. Early training to manage barking is important. Their protective instincts are balanced by genuine gentleness with family members, particularly children, making them patient and tolerant household companions.
Shepnees possess moderate to high intelligence but may show some independence inherited from the Great Pyrenees, who were bred to work autonomously protecting flocks. This means training requires patience and consistency, as they may not always immediately comply like pure German Shepherds. They respond best to positive reinforcement and benefit greatly from early socialization to ensure they can distinguish between actual threats and normal situations. Once trained, they're reliable and steady companions.
The breed requires moderate daily exercise, less intense than many German Shepherd mixes due to the Great Pyrenees's influence. Daily walks totaling 60-90 minutes, along with yard time and mental stimulation, usually suffice. They enjoy outdoor activities but aren't as driven for constant action as working-line shepherds. Shepnees are well-suited for families with large, securely fenced properties where they can patrol and observe their territory. Their size and protective nature make them less suitable for apartment living.
The Shepnees has a thick double coat that sheds heavily year-round with dramatic seasonal blowouts twice annually. They require brushing at least 3-4 times weekly, increasing to daily during shedding seasons. Their coat provides excellent weather protection, allowing them to thrive in cold climates, though they can overheat in hot weather. Regular grooming, ear cleaning, and nail maintenance are essential parts of their care routine.
Best suited for families seeking a gentle giant with protective instincts, the Shepnees thrives in homes with space, preferably with previous large breed experience. They're wonderful with children when properly socialized and make devoted family companions who bond deeply with their household. Their combination of the German Shepherd's trainability and the Great Pyrenees's calm patience creates a balanced guardian that's both formidable protector and loving family member.
