These silky terrier puppies have no papers, but their parents are AKC registered. They are looking for loving pet homes only, not for breeding purposes. Hurry up, as there is only one boy and one girl left! Please keep in mind the rehoming fee of $1000, as they are purebred. The first picture showcases the girl, the second picture features the boy, and the last two pictures depict their parents.

About the Silky Terrier

Silky Terrier

The Silky Terrier, also known as the Australian Silky Terrier, is a small but spirited breed developed in Australia in the late 19th century by crossing Yorkshire Terriers with Australian Terriers. Despite their glamorous, silky coat and toy classification, these are true terriers with bold, confident personalities and strong hunting instincts. The breed's distinctive feature is its beautiful, straight, silky coat that parts down the back and flows to the ground, requiring regular grooming to maintain its lustrous appearance. Unlike many small breeds, Silky Terriers retain keen terrier traits including high energy, alertness, and a strong prey drive that can make them challenging with small pets. These dogs are larger and more robust than their Yorkshire Terrier cousins, making them sturdier companions for active families. Silky Terriers are intelligent, responsive dogs that excel in obedience and agility when properly trained, though their independent terrier nature means training requires consistency and patience. They form strong bonds with their families and can be excellent watchdogs, alerting owners to anything unusual with their sharp bark. While friendly and affectionate with their people, Silkies can be reserved or even snippy with strangers and unfamiliar dogs without proper socialization. These energetic little dogs need more exercise than many toy breeds, enjoying brisk walks, play sessions, and opportunities to chase and explore in safely enclosed areas. Their terrier heritage means they love to dig and may chase small animals. Silky Terriers adapt well to apartment living provided they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. They're generally good with older, respectful children but may not tolerate rough handling. Regular grooming, including daily brushing and periodic bathing, keeps their coat in show-quality condition.
