One boy left Purebred Wheaten terrier puppies ready to go to his furever homes. Born on 15/20/11. Friendly, cuddly and playful. Wheatens are non-shedding yet hypoallergenic. Wondrous friendly boy, family dogs. Our puppies and young children are raised at home. They'll have vaccines 1st and they'll be dewormed. Come and collect complete AKC registration documents. Asking 1800 fees for adoption.
About the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is a medium-sized Irish breed with a distinctive soft, silky, wheat-colored coat that gives the breed its name. Originally developed as an all-purpose farm dog in Ireland, Wheatens herded livestock, hunted vermin, and served as loyal companions for generations. Unlike many terriers, the Wheaten has a notably friendly, happy-go-lucky temperament, earning them the nickname 'the poor man's wolfhound.' Their signature greeting is the 'Wheaten greetin''—an enthusiastic, jumping display of affection that requires training to manage. The breed's beautiful single coat requires significant grooming commitment, with daily brushing necessary to prevent matting and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Wheatens don't shed much, making them somewhat better for allergy sufferers, though no dog is truly hypoallergenic. These are energetic, playful dogs that retain their puppy-like enthusiasm well into adulthood, sometimes taking three years to fully mature. Wheatens are intelligent and trainable but can display typical terrier stubbornness, requiring patient, consistent training with positive reinforcement methods. They're generally excellent with children, showing remarkable patience and playfulness, though their exuberant nature may overwhelm very young kids. Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers are less aggressive toward other dogs than many terrier breeds, though they can be headstrong and benefit from early socialization.
