About the Whippet
The Whippet is a medium-sized sighthound breed developed in England during the 19th century, essentially a smaller version of the Greyhound. These elegant, streamlined dogs were originally bred for racing and hunting small game, capable of reaching speeds up to 35 mph.
Despite their athletic prowess, Whippets are remarkably gentle and quiet house companions, often described as 'couch potatoes' indoors. They have minimal grooming needs thanks to their short, smooth coat but require protection from cold weather due to their low body fat.
